3. Web analytics with GoatCounter

GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly open-source web analytics service, is used to measure reach. Provider: Martin Tournoij, Netherlands (EU). Endpoint: aullnikita.goatcounter.com.

The following data is processed:

  • Anonymised URL of the page visited
  • Referrer
  • Screen resolution
  • Browser language
  • Country derived from the IP address

No cookies, no local storage and no fingerprinting are used.

To count returning visitors, GoatCounter creates a hash from the IP address, user agent and a salt that rotates every 4 hours. The IP address itself is not stored. After 4 hours it is technically impossible to link the hash to a person.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in privacy-friendly reach measurement). No consent under § 25 TDDDG is required, as no information is stored on or read from the end device.

All fonts (Inter) and stylesheets are served directly from this website’s own server. No external services such as Google Fonts or a CSS CDN are used. Therefore, apart from hosting (section 2) and reach measurement (section 3), no data is transmitted to third parties when the website is accessed.

This website does not use cookies.

It only uses a technically necessary local storage entry (theme) to remember your choice of colour scheme (light/dark) between page views. This entry contains no personal data and does not require consent under § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG.
