How I Accidentally Gave a 5-Hour Security Masterclass for Crypto Traders
It all started with a message from a friend: “They’re looking for an information security specialist for a masterclass.”
I wrote to the organizer.
The task looked like this: “We have 10-15 questions, you need to prepare detailed answers. During the masterclass, answer these questions. And also answer additional questions from the audience. Audience of 100 people.”
I decided to prepare more thoroughly and spent a week writing the masterclass text and preparing the presentation :)
What came out of it:
- 101 presentation slides
- 90+ pages of text
- 5+ hours of content (even had to split it into 2 days)
- 1,600+ views on YouTube in the first week
- Participants are still asking questions
Topics covered:
- Information security fundamentals
- Device and network protection
- Crypto wallet security
- Network anonymization
- AI in cybercrime
Yes, this is not an academic work - more of a practical guide for those working with cryptocurrencies. But it was precisely the practicality that made the masterclass useful.
Main takeaway: even experienced traders often don’t know basic security things. And the risks are enormous.
First time participating in such a format - and I got incredible enjoyment from the process. When you see that your knowledge actually helps people protect their assets - that’s motivating.
