AI Through a Hacker's Eyes - Xakep Magazine

2 min read 287 words

Honestly, this doesn’t feel like a real book, but I enjoyed reading it. It’s a collection of articles from Xakep magazine on the topic of artificial intelligence.

Why doesn’t it feel like a book? There’s no common thread besides the topic. And the title doesn’t fully reflect the content. Out of 8 articles in this collection, only 5 match the title, talking about using AI capabilities for hacking. The other 3 articles are just about AI.

I enjoyed reading it, each article is written in a lively, clear language. The book is thin, about 100 pages of useful text.

I even thought about subscribing to the magazine :) Actually, I have a long history with Xakep magazine. As a kid in the 2000s, I used to go to the city library and read this magazine, and even made photocopies of some articles :) Even though I didn’t even have a computer :) I just read about computers, software, viruses, programming, hacking and security.

Everyone I knew - peers and adults - were convinced I was a real computer expert. But I only held a computer mouse for the first time at age 12.

I even wrote several articles for the city’s youth newspaper about computers, still without having one at home :)

Essentially, Xakep magazine defined my life for many years ahead.

  • I transferred to another school because they had a computer lab,
  • Started a private computer repair business,
  • Enrolled in university majoring in Information Security.

And to this day I work in IT, having tried a bunch of different fields :)

Definitely felt warm touching this book, even though there was nothing extraordinary written in it.

I recommend.
